Verified My wife and I had an amazing time at the observatory retreat for our 3rd anniversary. The observatory was very easy to use. Instructional video was very helpful as we navigated our first time inside. Using the general use lense and making sure your target is center with the controller made all the difference. We locked in on Saturn and then switched to the zoom lense and wow what a view!!!One of the coolest things ever was seeing the shooting stars/metor shower. We were looking to the north and they started zipping by in all directions about every 10 seconds for like 5 mins. Could not see it with the naked eye. Very high end observatory that was even better then expected.Being able to spend the evening using the observatory and looking at the night sky in Yucca Valley was incredible. The property itself was beautiful, comfortable, unique, and clearly designed with a lot of care. The house itself was spacious, clean, and quiet, exactly what you want after a day of exploring, with great views out over the desert landscape. There were plenty of games and activities to keep everyone entertained too.But the real highlight was the observatory. Michelle and Jonathan have clearly put a ton of thought and care into making astronomy genuinely accessible, not just a novelty add-on, but a real, well-run setup that our whole family loved. The home was spacious and comfortable. Even though the weather was hot, the A/C worked great, and there are plenty of games and activities to do inside. The showers were good. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and pretty much anything you need for cooking. I appreciated the guidebook with local recommendations. We weren't too far from Joshua Tree and drove into the park on a late afternoon to be there for sunset. We liked relaxing out on the balcony at night, and even saw a couple of shooting stars.
