Do I need astronomy experience to use the observatory?
Not at all! Our custom software was designed with first-time stargazers in mind. Simply select a celestial object, and the fully automated telescope and dome do the rest—making stargazing simple, fun, and unforgettable for everyone.
What are the observatory hours?
The observatory is typically available from sunset to midnight, depending on weather conditions.
- Winds above 25 mph: closed
- Winds 15–24 mph, rain, snow, or full cloud cover: limited access (dome remains closed)
- Conditions are evaluated daily based on the evening forecast
Is the observatory private or shared?
The observatory is located on a fully gated property and is exclusively available to registered guests of Observatory Retreat.
Is access to the observatory included with my stay?
Yes — access to the observatory is included with your reservation, along with the home and outdoor spaces.
Do you have an electric vehicle charger onsite?
A level 2 EV charger is provided for guests’ convenience at rate of $0.50/kWh.
How many parking spaces are available?
There is parking for up to 6 vehicles, including space for larger vehicles or RVs.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 4 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM.
Can I bring my pets?
Yes — up to two dogs are welcome. Just include them when booking and the pet fee will be calculated automatically.
