We’re Michelle and Jonathan, the hosts behind Observatory Retreat, and we’re so glad you’re here. With a shared passion for travel and thoughtful guest experiences, we created a one-of-a-kind desert stay designed to feel both effortless and unforgettable.
By day, we work in aerospace, drones, and education — with Jonathan contributing to NASA’s Artemis program. That same passion led us to create something truly unique: a private, fully automated observatory experience. Designed and coded in-house, our custom system makes exploring the night sky simple and accessible for every guest.
Set against the backdrop of Joshua Tree’s stunning desert landscape, Observatory Retreat is a place to explore, unwind, and experience something different — from days spent adventuring to nights under the stars.
